In 1995, Country Music Hall of Fame member Emmylou Harris released her groundbreaking album Wrecking Ball, which was produced by Daniel Lanois, recorded and mixed by Malcolm Burn, and won a Grammy for Best Contemporary Folk Album. This program celebrates the album’s May 16 induction into the Recording Academy’s Grammy Hall of Fame, established in 1973 to honor recordings of lasting qualitative or historical significance that are at least twenty-five years old. Following a screening of the documentary Building the Wrecking Ball, which originally aired on PBS in 1996, Harris, Lanois, and Burn will join the Museum’s Dave Paulson to discuss the making of the album. Ford Theater. Included with Museum admission. Program ticket required. Free to Museum members.
