Brittany Haas is a multi-award-winning fiddle player who has recorded and performed with Dierks Bentley, Bela Fleck, Steve Martin, and David Rawlings and is a member of the group Hawktail. Fiddle player Ed Haley and mandolin and accordion player Ella Haley were a duo who recorded and performed in Kentucky, Ohio, Virginia, and West Virginia during the first half of the twentieth century. The husband and wife were both blind. Haas, along with archivist and musician John Fabke and mandolin player Reed Stutz, will perform tunes from Stole from the Throat of a Bird: The Complete Recordings of Ed & Ella Haley, released by Spring Fed Records in August 2022, and discuss the Haleys’ unique, inspiring story.
