Multi-instrumentalist John McEuen is a founder and former member of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. He has also released solo records and collaborated with Johnny Cash, David Allan Coe, the Dillards, Kenny Loggins, Michael Martin Murphey, Phish, Martha Redbone, Earl Scruggs, and Doc Watson. McEuen is a member of both the Traditional Country Music Hall of Fame (inducted 2009) and the American Banjo Museum Hall of Fame (inducted 2017). In 2010, he won a Best Bluegrass Album Grammy for producing Steve Martin’s album The Crow. Offered in support of the exhibition Western Edge: The Roots and Reverberations of Los Angeles Country-Rock, presented by City National Bank.
