Educators are highly encouraged to participate in a free Words & Music Professional Development prior to teaching the unit for the first time.

Artifact Byte Videos

Experience a byte of country music history in two minutes or less! Artifact Bytes videos highlight primary sources from the Museum's archives that explore social studies connections to country music artists like Dolly Parton and DeFord Bailey as well as artifacts like Elvis’s gold-plated Cadillac.

STEAM Lesson Materials

Prepare students to experience the Museum through the STEAM lens! Interdisciplinary pre- and post-program materials introduce students to the historical context of listening devices—from the gramophone to the iPod—and challenges them to consider how and why these technologies have changed over time.
