DECK THE HALL FESTIVITIES KICK OFF FRIDAY, NOV. 25, WITH TREE LIGHTING

NASHVILLE, Tenn., – Sept. 1, 2016 – The holiday season is just around the corner, which means it is time, once again, to Deck the Hall at the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum. In December the museum will be packed with seasonal activities that blend music, art, education and even Santa Claus, offering fun for the entire family.
Festivities kick off Friday, Nov. 25, when a special guest lights the thirty-foot-tall Christmas tree in the museum’s Mike Curb Conservatory. The tree lighting will be followed with a brief performance by a special guest to be announced soon.

The museum will offer unforgettable music and holiday magic in the CMA Theater with “A Wynonna & The Big Noise Christmas” on Dec. 14. The evening concert will include a mix of holiday favorites, Wynonna’s biggest hits, and brand new music. Tickets start at $55 and go on sale Friday, Sept. 2, at 10 a.m. CST. There will be a limited number of VIP packages available, which include premier seating, artists meet-and-greet, and a limited edition Hatch Show Print poster. Throughout the holiday season, the museum will offer many free activities. Santa Claus will pose for free photos with children of all ages on both Saturday and Sunday during Deck the Hall. Don’t miss Santa on Nov. 25–27, Dec. 3–4, Dec. 10–11 and Dec. 17–18. String City: Nashville’s Tradition of Music and Puppetry, a puppet show created by a partnership of the Nashville Public Library and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, returns to the museum for a two-day run, Nov. 25–26.

On Dec. 4, kids of all ages can pull their own Hatch Show Print poster for free. Participants will learn about letterpress printing from the staff of one of the oldest working letterpress print shops in the United States. Hatch staff will help participants create their very own letterpress art using carved wood, linoleum and metal block images from the Hatch collection.

Additional hands-on activities in the Taylor Swift Education Center (TSEC) will provide fun for the entire family throughout Deck the Hall, including cookie and ornament decorating on Sundays, Nov. 27, Dec. 4 and Dec. 11. The museum will present a Songwriter Session featuring Grammy-winning recording artist Kristian Bush on Saturday, Dec. 3, at 11:30 a.m. A member of acclaimed country duo Sugarland, Bush co-wrote many of their hits, including “Baby Girl,” “Settlin’,” “Something More,” “Stand Back Up,” “Stuck Like Glue” and “Want To.” He also wrote all of the songs on his 2015 solo album, Southern Gravity.

Back by popular demand, the museum will present A Legendary Holiday at Historic RCA Studio B, which will include a tour of the studio and a holiday concert with guitarist Meagan Taylor, great-niece of Chet Atkins, pianist Jason Coleman, grandson of Floyd Cramer and Country Music Hall of Fame members Charlie McCoy and Brenda Lee.  Dates are Dec. 10 and 11. Seating is limited and tickets are $25. Tours depart from the museum at 3:00 p.m. and return at 5:00 p.m.

The museum’s retail shops have items for every shopper’s budget this season. Visit the Hatch Show Print Store for a large selection of handmade prints, cards and branded merchandise or choose a one-of-a-kind framed monoprint from Hatch Show Print’s Haley Gallery. Admission to most holiday programs is free with museum admission and free to museum members. Individual membership starts at $50 and makes a great holiday gift.
