Community Pop-up: Songwriting 101: Call-and-Response at Nashville Public Library, Inglewood Branch
The Museum travels to the Nashville Public Library’s Inglewood Branch to write a song as a group in this introductory workshop. Amirah Shantel will teach the fundamentals of songwriting, including form, imagery, and rhyme scheme. Participants will learn a call-and-response song to get the creative juices flowing, then sing and record their newly written song. Shantel is a classically trained composer, vocalist, songwriter, and session singer who has performed at the Bluebird Café.
Recommended for ages 7 and up, but all are welcome.
Presented in support of the Nashville Public Library’s Summer Reading Challenge.
