Frequently Asked Questions

The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s annual Medallion Ceremony honors the newest members of the Country Music Hall of Fame as they are formally inducted. The invitation-only event takes place in the Museum’s CMA Theater and is produced by the staff of the Museum. Friends, family, colleagues, and fellow Country Music Hall of Fame members honor the new inductees with tributes and songs. A Hall of Fame member inducts the member-elect by presenting the inductee with a commemorative medallion to be worn each time the membership gathers.

Election to the Country Music Hall of Fame is country music’s highest honor. The Country Music Association (CMA), the country music industry’s trade organization, created the accolade to recognize significant contributions to the advancement of country music by people in the creative and business communities. The first members—Jimmie Rodgers, Fred Rose, and Hank Williams—were inducted in 1961.

Since the Medallion Ceremony is a private ceremony, the Red Carpet Experience is a chance to celebrate the arrival of our Country Music Hall of Fame members-elect before this year’s induction ceremony. Fans are invited to gather at the corner of Demonbreun and Rep. John Lewis Way S. (in front of the Museum) for trivia, giveaways, and interviews hosted by the Museum’s Dana Romanello and entertainment journalist Kelly Sutton.

Singer Patty Loveless, songwriter Bob McDill, and singer Tanya Tucker will be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame on October 22, 2023.

All Hall of Fame members are listed here.

This is to be determined. All Hall of Fame members and members-elect are invited to walk the red carpet.

The Red Carpet Experience is open to the public. The Medallion Ceremony itself is closed to the public. For the Red Carpet Experience, fans are invited to gather at the corner of Demonbreun and Rep. John Lewis Way S. (in front of the Museum).

The Medallion Ceremony is not broadcast. Highlights from the ceremony will be posted on the Museum’s website.

The Museum, Hatch Show Print, and Historic RCA Studio B will reopen on Monday, October 23.
