Gretchen Peters wrote “The Chill of an Early Fall” (George Strait), “Independence Day” and “My Baby Loves Me” (Martina McBride), “Let That Pony Run” (Pam Tillis), “The Secret of Life” (Faith Hill), “When You Love Someone” (Bryan Adams), and “You Don’t Even Know Who I Am” (Patty Loveless). She was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2014, received the Academy of Country Music’s Poet’s Award in 2021, and was featured in the Museum’s Poets and Prophets series in 2015. In 2022, Peters released The Show: Live from the UK, an album recorded on tour in 2019. Ford Theater. Included with Museum admission. Program ticket required. Free to Museum members.
