NASHVILLE, Tenn., November 23, 2015 – On December 1, The Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum will participate in #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. The museum will seek support for its Fund for Youth Education. The museum offers hundreds of music education programs throughout the year, and the Fund for Youth Education allows the museum to create once-in-a-lifetime opportunities for students, locally and across the globe.

Contributions to the Fund for Youth Education help make available the museum’s award-winning educational programs, like Words & Music, at no cost to Metro Nashville Public Schools students and at reduced rates for all others. In Words & Music, the museum’s cornerstone school program, students write original songs collaboratively with professional songwriters. More than 10,000 students will participate in Words & Music in 2015, and more than 160,000 will benefit from activities in the Taylor Swift Education Center, the museum’s state-of-the-art hub for education programs.

During a recent Words & Music session, Moesha, a seventh grader from the Bronx, experienced the power of self-expression through the flagship lyric-writing program. Her life experiences inspired “Everybody’s Perfect,” a song Moesha and her classmates co-wrote with Grammy-winning songwriter Liz Rose.

Gifts of $25 and above help to provide the following opportunities to students around the world:

$25: Strings for education program guitars

$50: Hands-on activities for fifty students who visit the museum

$125: Words & Music program via videoconference technology

$250: Bus transportation for seventy students

$500: Banjo or mandolin for educational programs

$1,000: Student art installation in the Taylor Swift Education Center

$2,500: Lesson guides for three hundred teachers
