NASHVILLE, Tenn., August 21, 2015—Twelve-time Grammy winner Paul Simon has been added to the stellar lineup for the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s All for the Hall New York benefit concert on October 6 at the Best Buy Theater in Times Square. Simon will join award-winning Grand Ole Opry members Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, as well as Country Music Hall of Fame (and Opry) members Vince Gill and Emmylou Harris in a guitar-pull format performance.

Concert tickets for mezzanine seating go on sale today, Friday, August 21, at 10:00 a.m. EDT and can be purchased at axs.com or at the Best Buy Theater box office. Tickets are $100. A limited number of VIP tables and tickets are on sale now, and patrons have the option of purchasing a full table of 10 for $10,000, a half table for $5,000, or individual floor-level seats for $1,000 each. Paul Simon ranks as one of the great songwriters of the twentieth century. During his distinguished career, Simon has been the recipient of many honors and awards, including 12 Grammy Awards, three of which were Album of the Year: Bridge Over Troubled Water, Still Crazy After All These Years, and Graceland. In 2003 he received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award for his work as half of the duo Simon & Garfunkel. He has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, both as a member of Simon & Garfunkel and as a solo artist. His song “Mrs. Robinson,” from the film The Graduate, was named in the Top 10 of the American Film Institute’s “100 Years, 100 Songs.”

Simon was a recipient of the Kennedy Center Honors in 2002 and was named one of Time magazine’s “100 People Who Shape Our World” in 2006. The following year, he was awarded the inaugural Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song, and he was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2011.

During the one-of-a kind event at New York’s Best Buy Theater, attendees will have the rare opportunity to witness award-winning superstars partake in a Nashville tradition known as the guitar pull, in which a small group of musicians gather together and take turns presenting their songs, while the other artists look on or add harmony and instrumentation. Some of the most famous guitar-pull sessions came from Johnny and June Carter Cash. Performers will decide what to sing in the spur of the moment, with no set list, as they casually swap songs and stories during All for the Hall New York.

The museum’s All for the Hall campaign launched in 2005, to support the museum’s need for long-term financial security. This year’s proceeds will be dedicated to the support of the museum’s educational programs, which teach audiences about the enduring beauty and cultural importance of country music.
