Songwriter Gary Burr To Be Featured In Poets And Prophets Series At Museum

NASHVILLE, Tenn., - Sept. 26, 2017 – The Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum will feature Gary Burr in its special series Poets and Prophets: A Salute to Songwriters on Saturday, Oct. 7, at 2 p.m. in the museum’s Ford Theater. The program will include an in-depth interview, conducted by museum staff member Michael Gray and illustrated with vintage photos, film footage and recordings, and Burr will give a short performance. Following the program, he will sign commemorative Hatch Show Print posters.
Connecticut native Burr had early success with Juice Newton’s country-pop crossover hit “Love’s Been a Little Bit Hard on Me,” in 1982. Burr moved to Nashville in 1989 and eventually became one of the city’s most successful songwriters. In 2005, he was elected to the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. His credits include “That’s My Job” (Conway Twitty), “One Night a Day” (Garth Brooks), “I Try to Think About Elvis” (Patty Loveless), “Till You Love Me” (Reba McEntire), “What Mattered Most” (Ty Herndon), “Can’t Be Really Gone” (Tim McGraw), “Nobody Wants to Be Lonely” (Ricky Martin and Christina Aguilera) and more.
Poets and Prophets is included with museum admission and free to museum members. Seating is limited, and passes are required for admittance.
