Festivities Will Include Tree Lighting and Brief Performance from Tucker

NASHVILLE, Tenn., – November 3, 2015 – Country star Tanya Tucker will kick off Deck the Hall at the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum on Friday, Nov. 27. Festivities will begin at 4 p.m. with a brief performance from Tucker that will include her hits as well as some holiday classics. She will then light a thirty-foot-tall Christmas tree in the museum’s Mike Curb Conservatory. Following the performance and tree lighting, Tucker will sign copies of her CDs available for purchase in the Museum Store.

Tucker’s performance launches a month filled with music and cheer at the museum. As part of its annual Deck the Hall Concert Series, the museum will host a holiday performance every Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in December beginning with Ricky Skaggs and the Whites on Dec. 2. On Dec. 9 “Little Miss Dynamite,” Brenda Lee, will light up the CMA Theater in her first-ever Nashville show. The museum will present an evening with Lonestar on Dec. 16. Finally, on Dec. 23, newly inducted Country Music Hall of Fame members the Oak Ridge Boys will take the CMA Theater stage to share their hits and Christmas favorites.

In addition to the concert series the museum will offer many free-to-the-public activities that blend music, art, education and even Santa Claus, offering fun for the entire family. Throughout the holiday season, Santa Claus will be on hand for free photos with children of all ages on both Saturday and Sunday during Deck the Hall this year. Don’t miss Santa on Nov. 28-29, Dec. 5-6, Dec. 12-13 and Dec. 19-20. 

Families can also enjoy cookie decorating on Sundays, Nov. 29, Dec. 6 and Dec. 20. Cookies—made from a Trisha Yearwood recipe—as well as icing and edible decorations, will be provided.

Admission to most holiday programs is free with museum admission and free to museum members. Individual membership starts at $45 and makes a great holiday gift.
The museum’s retail shops also have items for every shopper’s budget this season including LPs and CDs, specialty books, Nashville-made gifts, food and home accessories, men’s and women’s apparel, jewelry and much more.
