Pedal steel players Dan Dugmore, Steve Fishell, JayDee Maness, and Al Perkins were all important musicians in the Los Angeles country-rock scene. Dan Dugmore is a former member of John Stewart’s and Linda Ronstadt’s touring bands and has contributed to albums by Don Henley, Jake Owen, John Prine, Kenny Rogers, James Taylor, Randy Travis, and more. Steve Fishell, who will moderate this event, has recorded and performed with Emmylou Harris for forty years and has also recorded with Eric Church, Reba McEntire, and Dolly Parton. Additionally, he has produced #1 singles for Radney Foster and Pam Tillis. JayDee Maness is a member of the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame who has played with the Byrds, Vince Gill, International Submarine Band, Buck Owens, Gram Parsons, and more. Al Perkins is a member of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame and Texas Steel Guitar Hall of Fame who has toured and recorded with Garth Brooks, Cher, Bob Dylan, the Flying Burrito Brothers, Dan Fogelberg, Emmylou Harris, Gram Parsons, Dolly Parton, James Taylor, and Dwight Yoakam. Offered in support of the exhibition Western Edge: The Roots and Reverberations of Los Angeles Country-Rock, presented by City National Bank. Opening weekend programming made possible in part by the Academy of Country Music, and exhibit travel partner, American Airlines.
